Stay Medicated

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 2

Everyone wants to be healthy, right? Where I come from, it is not uncommon to find drug sellers peddling one type of medication that can supposedly cure countless numbers of ailments. We’d usually take such recommendations with a pinch of salt.

Well, I have discovered the “wonder medication” in God’s word. It’s called thanksgiving or giving thanks.

Psalm 69:30-31 says thanksgiving pleases God, and 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says giving thanks is God’s will for us!

Apart from it putting you and I in good standing with God, giving thanks cures a whole bunch of ailments. Science says it reduces depression, lessens anxiety, supports heart health, relieves stress, improves sleep, lowers blood pressure, and improves immunity function, among many others!

Being grateful and expressing it then is a win-win for us all. Thankfully, there are no dangerous side effects, and you can never overdose on thanksgiving. Another win!

May the Lord help us to cultivate hearts of gratitude primarily towards God and then towards people. What good is gratitude, if it’s not expressed? So go ahead and tell God and someone “thank you” then reap all the spiritual and medical benefits too.

Blessings!

Love,

Lady Mo ❤️
