Limiting God

Psalms‬ ‭78:41‬ ‭”Yes, again and again they tempted God, And limited the Holy One of Israel.”

At first read, it sounds almost ludicrous. We can limit God? Mere mortals like us? Ha! Who are we to limit the limitless, unlimited almighty God? Yet, the scripture couldn’t be any clearer.

God’s chosen people limited His power in their lives! God wanted to do so much with and through them yet they limited Him by their lack of faith, complaints and mistrust!

In the same way, we can also limit God’s power in our lives! We do that when we try to direct God and dictate to Him how we want Him to act in our lives and when we get fiixated on a particular answer. When we do that we constrain God who can do exceeding abundantly above all we could ask or imagine!

He says He knew you before He formed you. He says He wrote every chapter of your life before you showed up!! Wow. Why would we want to limit Him then, with our small thinking and small mindedness?

Let’s give God free rein and watch Him blow our minds!
