Restorer-In-Chief

Let’s face it, some of the Bible’s stories read like Soap Operas. Case in point: Samson & Delilah. Phew.

A quick summary in case you’re not familiar with the story. Samson was a judge in Israel in a time when the Philistines were oppressing the Israelites. God gave him a mandate to deliver the latter from the hands of the former. He had supernatural strength and at one time killed a thousand Philistines with a donkey’s jawbone.

Samson, however, loved Philistine women and fell for Delilah. She was paid by the leaders to find out the source of Samson’s strength. She executed her duty skillfully and obtained the needed information.

Armed with this, the Philistines successfully subdued Samson by cutting off his long hair, the symbol of his strength. At once, the Spirit of God which empowered him left. Hairless, powerless, and blind, Samson was confined to prison to grind grain.

“However, the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaven.” Judges 16:22.

With that (and I believe repentance), God restored his strength, and in one fell swoop, Samson killed three thousand Philistines on the day he died. (Read Judges 13-16).

The regrowth of Samson’s hair symbolized restoration. God is able to restore whatever the devil takes away from us. My prayer for you today is that God will restore to you all that you have lost. May God restore your dignity, health, joy, glory, marriage, finances, wayward children, and much more. May you do and be greater than before! Restoration is coming! Amen.

Blessings!
