Mind. Set. Live.

To live differently, you must think differently.
“Set your mind on things above, not things on earth” Colossians 3:2.

Why is this important? Because how we think will affect how we behave. The Apostle Paul was admonishing the Colossians that since they now belonged to Christ and their lives were hidden in Him, they also had to change how they lived!

They, like us, should not be consumed by the pursuit of the pleasures of this world or get carried away by the desire to make it in this life. We should not be so much in love with the honors of this world that we neglect spiritual things!

One way to guard against this is to set your mind, heart, or affections on God, the things that draw us closer to Him and prepare us for life in our actual home-Heaven.

As we pursue and acquire things that are necessary to living life here on earth-wealth, food, clothes, houses, entertainment, etc-we must keep in mind that these are just temporary and are passing away.

Our true treasures will be in Heaven. Keep that in mind as you pass through this life.
