Himself!

The Israelites were finally leaving Egypt with so much gold and silver, it was surreal. They left Egypt rejoicing but soon joy turned into terror. They found themselves trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army. With no obvious way out, they began to panic and cry and attack Moses. In response Moses declared “The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” Exodus 14:14

The Lord Himself. I was musing on this line and trying to gain a full understanding of what it means. It means God will take care of the issue without any contribution from you. It means the Lord Himself will put together the fighting strategy; He will decide and deploy the appropriate weapons and troops needed; then He will go to battle on your behalf.

When God Himself is fighting for you, there is no way you will be defeated. God has a complete view of the situation you’re facing. He sees ahead, behind, from the top, all around and beneath too; nothing is hidden from His sight. He knows the strategy the enemy is using. He sees all the loopholes, the hidden traps, the blindsides; nothing escapes Him. He doesn’t need to send spies ahead or engage in any prior surveillance. He is all-seeing and all-knowing and the best part is He is fighting for you!

Whatever insurmountable situation you’re facing, take it to the Lord in prayer and let Him fight for you. Like Moses told the folks on the shores of the Red Sea, the Lord Himself is fighting for you. Be still and give Him space to fight. Stop thrashing around in panic; stop looking for help from men; stop trying to offer a helping hand; stop strategizing. Be still and let God Himself win the victory for you.
