It’s Nonsense

I love social media. It allows me to share the word of God, among many other things. So yeah, I love it. However, it can also do some serious damage to your confidence and self-esteem. It has sunk many into depression and caused some to take their own lives. Others have lost their faith because of the garbage spewed on social media.

In Colossians 2:8, the Apostle Paul gives sound advice, which is a great caution to us Christians as we browse, scroll, and listen. Social media has unleashed all manner of Pastors, Apostles, Priests, Teachers, etc upon us.

I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve argued with computer and phone screens as I listened to some people. Not to mention the times I’ve had to answer people’s questions stemming from something they heard on one of the platforms.

As the good Apostle cautioned some centuries ago “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.” Colossians 2:8 NLT

Protect your faith and guard your heart by getting deeply rooted in Christ through the word. Any Christian who doesn’t ground himself/herself in the word is bound to be tossed about by every wind of doctrine.

I pray that God will sharpen your understanding of Him and of His word so you’re not blown away by high sounding nonsense.
