Flee!

Fight! Resist! Don’t back down! No retreat, no surrender!

The statements denote strength, toughness and we employ these attitudes in many instances. In fact these are good attitudes and qualities to have if you are to succeed in this life and also in spiritual warfare.

Running away or fleeing is usually seen as a sign of weakness or cowardice though it is not always the case. Sometimes running away may even save your life; sometimes running away is the wise thing to do. Many have saved their lives and that of others by not staying their ground to fight but by running away.

When it comes to sexual immorality, the bible tells us to simply FLEE!!! “Flee sexual immorality…” I Cor. 6:18.

The same Bible that tells us to resist the devil implores us to flee sexual immorality. Any sexual expression outside of the parameters of marriage as ordained by God falls under sexual immorality.

Fleeing sexual immorality means to guard against any situation that can lead you down that road.

Little compromises can lead to big trouble.

You must necessarily guard your thoughts, guard your eyes, watch your communications and associations. What may start out as harmless flirtation may lead to devastating consequences.

We live in a sexually confused culture and this is the more reason why we must heed the cry to flee.
As you flee from sexual immorality you must flee to Christ.

Nobody runs away without a purpose or a destination. The purpose here is to run from sexual sin and the destination is Christ. God is always willing to help us with our struggles and we will do well to ask Him to help us navigate this sexually charged world. 1 Cor. 6:20 encourages us to honor God with our bodies: “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Do not even attempt to resist sexual impurity, you will lose. Victory is in fleeing only so RUN!!!!
