The Tightening

After a not so hesitant Q & A with God, Moses finally agreed to go to Egypt, flanked by his big brother Aaron to secure the freedom of God’s people. After convincing the elders of the Israelites, Moses and Aaron went to see Pharaoh.
Of course Pharaoh met their request to let God’s people go with opposition, not wanting to lose the free labor of the slaves. He flatly refused to let them go.
Annoyed at the audacity of Moses, Aaron and of the Israelites for daring to entertain thoughts of freedom, Pharaoh did more than just say no.
“So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying, “You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves. And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it…” Exodus 5:6‭-‬8.
In the previous chapter we are told that after the elders heard that God had finally come to their aid they bowed down and worshiped God, obviously elated. Then right after that Pharaoh tightened the conditions of their labor! What a sure way to dash their gleeful expectation of freedom!
You finally conceive, you are excited and start picking out names and dreaming of the day you will see you baby! You are expectant and then the doctor tells you there is an issue with you or your fetus!
Or let us say you receive a word that God has healed you and at your next appointment, the doctor tells you your condition is still the same!
The Apostle Paul had a similar experience! He spoke about the opposition he faced after a “great and effectual door” was opened to him!
Whenever God releases a word into your life or opens a door for you, the enemy will do whatever it takes to place obstacles in your way. He wants you to doubt God’s word, he wants to dash your expectation; cause you to question God’s goodness and His ability to accomplish what He has spoken!
I encourage you to hold on to what God has said. He watches over His word to perform it. No matter how long it takes, no matter how hard things become, God will bring it to pass!
Blessings!
Love, Lady Monica ❤
