Invest Time

Time flies. Life is transient. Here today, gone tomorrow. Don’t we all wish we had more than twenty four hours in a day? If I had a penny for every time I or someone said “where did the time go?” I may not be a millionaire but I’ll probably have a lot of money. Time never seems to be enough but that is all we have.

It is imperative that we make the best use of our time while we still have strength. We say “time is money” and we know no-one can afford to waste money. If indeed we see our time to be that valuable we will spend it only on things that matter and things that will give us good returns. You will not invest your money in unnecessary and wasteful ventures; you will not invest your money in ponzy schemes even if your money is unlimited (is that even possible?). Well, time is limited.

“Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; …” Psalm 90:10. In other words we are guaranteed seventy years, anything else is a bonus. Of course if you are in your twenties, seventy years seems like eternity but it is not as no-one is active for all seventy. In fact only today is guaranteed and we must spend our time profitably TODAY.

Let us spend our time on what is important; do not divvy up your time according to someone else’s priorities. Choose to spend your time wisely, with a plan and a goal. Manage your time like the precious resource that it is. Make every moment count.

Use your time purposefully. If you have not discovered it yet, find your purpose and let it guide how you spend your time. There are so many things, projects, relationships, activities that will require the use of your time but you are not called to everything or everyone. Invest time in those you are called to, the things that are aligned with your purpose and the things that will bring good returns physically and emotionally.

Pause for a few minutes today and examine what you spend your time on and see if that is what you should spend your time on. “Show me, Lord , my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. Psalm 39:4
My prayer is that the Lord will teach me to number my days so that I apply a heart of wisdom. I hope that is or will be your prayer too.

Blessings.
Love, Lady Monica
