A Fresh Start

“Any of his people among you may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the Lord , the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem, and may their God be with them.” Ezra 1:3

After seventy years in captivity in Babylon, Cyrus king of Persia directed by God offered the the people of Israel a fresh start. He gave them a chance to start over in their own land. Some went and others decided to stay in Babylon.

Every new year offers us the chance to start afresh; to let go of the regrets, to improve on our achievements and to dream big. It’s an opportunity to correct some mistakes, set some things right so as to do better in the new year.

One thing you must not do is to keep looking back and stewing in the mistakes of the past year or being content in the victories of the just ended year. The old has passed away, behold the new (year). Dwelling on the past mistakes and missteps especially, will prevent you from moving forward. These become shackles that can hold you back. Even if you made some good strides in the past year, the new year offers you an opportunity to improve and do better.

Imagine 2018 as a blank canvas and you as a painter. With the variety of colors on your pallet (mind) paint the picture of the life you want this year. You must first visualize it then put it down. When you can see it in concrete terms and pictures you can begin to realize it.

Go on, paint the picture of your spiritual growth plans; paint the relationship goals, paint the financial growth plan and personal growth goals. Don’t be afraid to dream big; after all you have a whole year to paint a picture you can be proud of come 12/31/18. God is your helper.

Blessings.
Love, Lady Monica
