“Process Is Work”
This is a quote from one of my dearest girls. Last night after Bible Study, she left me a rather long voice note thanking me for the session and telling me how questions she had been grappling with during the week had been answered by the time bible study was over. Just before she signed off she said she had one more thing to say. That through the experiences she has had at her job, one thing has become clear and I quote “process is work. You don’t have to like the work to do the work”.
Everything worth anything must go through a process. God also takes us through a process or processes in order to use us. Gold is only gold when it has gone through fire. My pastor/husband likes to say that faith that had not been tested cannot be trusted. Show me anyone God used greatly in scripture and I will show you the process they had to go though.
Process is not always easy; it is unpleasant, can be painful, it pulls on everything in you and tests your mettle. Abraham. Moses. Joseph. David. God still processes us. God’s process leaves us refined, toughened up, faithful and prepares us for where He is taking us.
Joseph was destined to be great; his bothers knew, his parents knew. He must have known too on a certain level, as he dreamt those fantastic dreams. Yet, “Until the time that his word [of prophecy regarding his brothers] came true, The word of the Lord tested and refined him.” PSALMS 105:19. I like the NLT version even better “Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the Lord tested Joseph’s character.”
Maybe you are experiencing some situations that do not make sense, so you are confused and perplexed. Could it be that the Lord is taking you through a process? Do not be in a hurry to run off to the nearest exit or dismiss it as some form of ill-luck. Seek the face of the Lord and ask Him to give you the strength to go through His process.
Blessings.
