LOVE, GOD.

Happy Valentine’s day dear readers! For a few weeks now I have been musing on God’s love; preached it last Sunday and it is still knocking on my heart’s door! So on the day of love let us muse over it together.
God’s love is hard to understand with our human minds! He created us to lavish His love on us. Then man sinned against Him. It would have been the perfect time to wash His hands off us but He did not. God Himself condescended and took on the form of a man to die for us so He could reconcile us back to Him. His amazing, divine love would not let Him leave us to our ruin!

So the holy God, the one in whom there is no sin, stepped down into sinful, filthy earth to save us. He dirtied Himself just for us. Think about it: there are some places you, mere mortal man/woman, will not go because of the “eww factor”. There are people you will not hang with, talk to, touch because it is below your dignity to associate with such. But the Almighty, King of kings, framer of worlds seen and unseen, deigned to mingle with us and to give His life for us. Complete, total, all-encompassing love!

When you come to understand God’s love for us you cannot help but return it in equal measure, well as much as your humanness will allow. Deuteronomy 6:5 gives us a clue, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Nothing short of that will do. Jesus added to this “And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:39.

Jesus said the real evidence that we belong to Him is that we love one another. John 13:35. It is not our speaking in tongues, prophesying, or doing other wonderful signs and wonders but that we show love to one another.
As we enjoy the flowers, chocolates, cakes, dinners and receive elaborate wishes of love, let us take a moment to reflect on God’s love for us and our love for each other. I pray that God gives us the grace to live out the 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 kind of love! Blessings.

Love, Lady Monica ❤❤
