Cut it Off

In Gen. 3:1, the serpent came to Eve and started a conversation: “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”.

Eve must have been familiar with the serpent seeing they all lived together in the Garden and perhaps did not even realize it was out to trick her. Sometimes we unintentionally get involved in wrong conversations that end up in nothing good. The challenge is in being able to identify the start of a wrong conversation. These conversations could be initiated by friends, people we are familiar with, people we are comfortable with and before you know it, you find yourself in a compromising situation.

2 Tim 2:16 says to “avoid worthless, foolish talk that only leads to more godless behavior.”

Let’s watch our conversations as wrong convos can lead to loss of friendships, other valuable relationships, topple kingdoms or in the case of Eve, change the whole course of man’s relationship with God.

Do not be like Eve, cut off wrong conversations before they go too far. If Eve had told the serpent to get lost, instead of entertaining it, things would have been different for us all. Instead she listened, responded, allowed what the serpent said to sink in, then she acted on it and the rest, as they say, is history. May God give us all the wisdom to identify wrong conversations and the courage to cut them short.

Blessings!

Love,
Lady Monica ❤
