No Is Ok

The simple two-letter word doesn’t come easy to everyone. It’s one of the first words we learn as babies and yet for an adult, it can be one of the hardest responses to give.

So we end up saying yes when we should say no, taking on so much more than we can do; over-committing and under-delivering!

Saying yes to everything and everyone will result in your inability to achieve your goals or complete your mission.

Well, I’m here to let you know it’s ok to say no. Even Jesus said no. He had only three and half years to accomplish His purpose and return to Heaven. There was a heavy demand on His time and He could not afford to say yes to everyone.

In Mark 1, Jesus went to Capernaum and from morning till night, healed the sick and delivered many who were demon-possessed. At dawn the next day He slipped away to pray. As soon as it was morning, people started assembling again, looking for Jesus to repeat the miracles of the day before. His disciples finally found Him and told Him people were waiting on him. “But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.” Mark 1:38

Jesus said no to continuing to heal and deliver in Capernaum. He opted instead to go elsewhere to work! It must have sounded cold or odd to His disciples but remaining in Capernaum at the time wouldn’t serve His purpose!

The next time you feel bad about saying no, remember this story. Don’t be drawn away from your goals or mission because you can’t say no!

Blessings!

Love,

Lady Monica ❤
