Last Night

One day Jesus was teaching on the shores of Galilee. As usual, the crowd was so huge it began to press in on him. He noticed two empties boats on the water’s edge and jumped into one.

After He finished teaching He asked the boat’s owner to go deeper into the sea and let out his net for a catch. Peter was a bit skeptical about the instruction. He said to Jesus, “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing…” Luke 5:5.

Well, when Peter obeyed the Master, he hauled in a mind-blowing miraculous catch.

The lesson here for us is that last night isn’t today. Yes, they caught nothing the night before but it didn’t mean the next day had to yield the same result. When Jesus is in our boat we can be sure that new things can and will happen for us today no matter how yesterday went. If Peter had decided to stick with the experience of the night before, he wouldn’t have seen this epic miracle.

I know yesterday informs today but Jesus isn’t bound by such rules. Trust that He’s able to make things different and better for you despite how last year, last week or yesterday went.

Listen to His instructions and follow His lead and remember yesterday isn’t today. Today He will do a new thing. Trust Him like Peter did.

Blessings!

Love, Lady Monica ❤️
