It Matters

How often do you pause to ask yourself how your decisions and actions look on God? I remember while I was in college, before I got myself in any interesting situations I’d ask myself how it’d look on my folks and God. Most often that was enough to alter my course.

David was the beloved of God and God unabashedly showered love on him. The people who recommended young David to serve in King Saul’s palace said David would be a good fit because among other things God was with him.

As a king David did what was right in the sight of God “except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite”. This king impregnated Uriah’s wife and had him killed to cover up his sin. Eventually God sent the Prophet Nathan to confront David. David became repentant and God forgave him but Nathan said something that should give you and I pause. He said “However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme…” 2 Samuel 12:14

Christianity has lost a lot of respect in our communities, sadly. Our actions, words, attitudes cause people to blaspheme God, talk smack about Christ and us Christians too. We have caused that. Don’t ever think how you conduct your life as a Christian whether on Social Media, at work, in school or out there is a small matter. The next time you take that step, ask if it will cause people Christ-bash, and walk away from it.

Blessings!

Love, Lady Monica ❤
