Impact!

Impact and influence are two of the most popular words we hear these days, IMO.

Impact means having a strong effect on someone or something. Influence has a similar meaning.

Last week, I heard quite a bit about salt through sermons and other conversations. It got me thinking about impact and influence.

I want to believe most of us want to make a positive impact and be a positive influence in our homes, workplaces, communities, and wherever we find ourselves.

Salt is one of the most impactful substances around us. The presence or absence of salt in food can be felt. Salt doesn’t need to be the main ingredient in any meal. Just a little makes a lot of impact.

When the Bible says of us “You are the salt of the earth…” (Matthew 5:13), that is exactly what it means. You don’t need to be the main ingredient in anything in order to make a difference. You don’t need to be the boss; you don’t need to have the limelight trained on you before we can taste your saltiness.

So long as you’re in the will of God, you’ll make an impact. Jesus emphatically called us salt, and that is all we need to convince us of our ability to make a difference.

As you go about your business this week, look for ways to make an impact and to positively influence others in your own small (or big) way. Remember, you don’t need to be the main ingredient. Just a teaspoon of salt can make a pot load of difference. Be salty.

Blessings.

Love, Lady Monica ❤️
