How Far

I was listening to a song by this title a few days ago and it got me thinking about God’s love. I don’t know about you, dear reader, but I often marvel at this love. It’s so different from what we are accustomed to giving and receiving from one another.

Some find it hard to believe that God’s love is totally unconditional. That there’s nothing we have done or can do that will change how He feels about us.

How far will His love go to reach us? As far as we can go! This means we can never go so far that His love cannot reach us.

Anytime you’re tempted to think God couldn’t possibly love you because of something you did, know that it’s a lie. He know we are human and have our frailties and faults; He’s always known that and still loves us, warts and all. Listen to this, “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;” Psalms 103:11

Paul says in Ephesians 3:19 that this love “surpasses knowledge”. It means God’s love exceeds our understanding, no wonder we find it hard to believe His love in unwavering, unconditional and irrevocable! Yes, it’s all that and more! Freely give yourself to God’s love and enjoy a lasting relationship with Him!
