Different

“It’s easy to be religious when religion is in fashion: but it is an evidence of strong faith and resolution to swin against the stream to heaven, and to appear for God when noone else appears for God” Matthew Henry

That pretty much describes Noah’s life. When we meet Noah, he’s living in a time when sin was the order of the day. Everyone did what they wanted and none acknowledged God.

“God saw that human evil was out of control. People thought evil, imagined evil—evil, evil, evil from morning to night.” Genesis 6:5‭ MSG

In contrast, Noah was blameless and walked in a close relationship with God. In this cesspool remained loyal to God, stood for Him and even preached for God. When every imagination and thought of [man’s] heart was only evil all day, Noah stood out.

He had a close relationship with God which kept him on the straight and narrow. The closer you are to God, the farther you move away from sinful behavior. To know God intimately is to love Him and to love Him is to obey Him.

If you’re going to be different, stand out and stand for God no matter who or what is around you, you must cultivate your relationship with God. Become rooted in Him and the winds of sin will be unable to move you.
