Before He Climbed

Short man Zacchaeus on my mind this morning. His is a familiar story recorded in Luke 19:1-6 in case you need the whole rundown.

Zacchaeus, the hated, unpopular tax collector for whatever reason decided he wanted to see who Jesus was. As Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through, Zacchaeus felt it was now or never. He ventured out of his house but met a throng surrounding Jesus. Being vertically challenged, he realized his only option was to climb a tree if he was to catch a glimpse of Jesus. He took it.

When Jesus reached the spot where he was, he stopped and without missing a beat “looked up and said to him ‘Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay in your house today'” Luke 19:5.

Jesus knew Zacchaeus would be in the tree before he climbed and even knew his name. We didn’t see Jesus consult with anyone prior to addressing him in the tree.

I’m just here today to remind you that just like Zacchaeus, YOU are important to God. He sees you, He knows you and He cares about you no matter where or who you are. God says before He formed you He knew you. Before you call on Him He will answer. Before you ask He knows. Before you cry He sees your tears. That is how concerned God is about you. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Blessings!

Love, Lady Monica ❤
